Cameroonian excelling in Reiki therapy in Netherlands

BY TARHYANG ENOWBIKAH TABE

A Cameroonian , Samuel Eyong Takang is  excelling in Netherlands in the field of Reiki therapy.

Eyong Samuel, based in Rotterdam, in the Netherlands is a certified Reiki master, and started practicing Reiki since.2005. Since then he has given treatments to many people around Europe and America (Maryland).

He operates Reiki therapy at home and also carry his services from place to place when need be.

In an online chat with him, he said “our aim is to provide Reiki energy therapy to our clients, and also we are searching for old people’s homes, hospitals, business organisations all over the world to work in partnership with them in order to maintain good health and vitality to humanity.

Reiki developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui, which since has been adapted by various teachers of varying traditions. It uses a technique commonly called palm healing or hands on healing as a form of complementary therapy and is sometimes classified as oriental medicine by some professional medical bodies. Through the use of this technique, practitioners believe that they are transferring universal energy (i.e., reiki) in the form of ki through the palms, which allows for self-healing and a state of equilibrium.

There are two main branches of Reiki, commonly referred to as Traditional Japanese Reiki and Western Reiki. Though differences can be wide and varied between branches and traditions, the primary difference is that Westernised forms use systematised hand-placements rather than relying on an intuitive sense of hand-positions which is commonly used by Japanese Reiki branches. Both branches commonly have a three-tiered hierarchy of degrees, usually referred to as the First, Second, and Master/Teacher level, all of which are associated with different skills and techniques.

Reiki is also a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an "attunement" given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life.

Its use is not dependent on one's intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds.

While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it.

While Reiki is not a religion, it is still important to live and act in a way that promotes harmony with others. Dr. Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki system of natural healing, recommended that one practice certain simple ethical ideals to promote peace and harmony, which are nearly universal across all cultures.
During a meditation several years after developing Reiki, Dr. Usui decided to add the Reiki Ideals to the practice of Reiki. The Ideals came in part from the five prinicples of the Meiji emperor of Japan whom Dr. Usui admired. The Ideals were developed to add spiritual balance to Usui Reiki. Their purpose is to help people realize that healing the spirit by consciously deciding to improve oneself is a necessary part of the Reiki healing experience.

According to Eyong Samuel Takang, in order for the Reiki healing energies to have lasting results, the client must accept responsibility for her or his healing and take an active part in it. Therefore, the Usui system of Reiki which Eyong Sammy uses is more than the use of the Reiki energy. It must also include an active commitment to improve oneself in order for it to be a complete system. The ideals are both guidelines for living a gracious life and virtues worthy of practice for their inherent value.

Reiki Master Explains
According the Cameroonian born Reiki Master, a Reiki healing treatment is easy to perform when you are trained. The practitioner is taught hand positions in treatment.

During a session, Eyong Samuel said, the practitioner gently places his or her hands on or slightly above you, from your head all the way down to your toes. In each hand position, the practitioner sends healing energy to your body.

“A session can be very relaxing and it is ok to fall asleep. Each reiki treatment is unique and everybody has a different experience during a reiki therapy as some may experience sensations such as warmth, tingling, cool, twitches, muscle spasm, gas, tears or gentle waves moving through your body, while the energy is flowing, it accelerates the body’s own natural healing ability.” He said and added that the intent is for healing to occur, “the energy has an intelligent of its own and knows where the healing energy has to go and what it is needed. It never does any harm. The reiki practitioner is only a channel for the healing energy.” He maintained.
Eyong said a typical initial session begins with a consultation and followed by discussion and that a reiki session can last anywhere from 1and a half to 2 hours, depending on the length of time you speak with your practitioner. “Stress and depression are one of the biggest benefits of Reiki therapy.
Sometime the result of a reiki session is not recognised until after the session, when your body has the chance to integrate the healing energy and the shift that has occurred.” He said and suggest that people pay attention to their body and mind for approximately one week following their treatment, and drink a lot of water to help flush out their system while releasing blockages and tension within the physical, mental and emotional bodies. This, he says, allows the natural flow of energy removing toxixs and waste products as the blockages leaves the body. “Once the blockages have been removed the people can then hold and store universal live energy in the body activating ones energy vibration.” He concluded.

Quizzed on if he has any plans to set up a Reiki center in Cameroon, he says he is still thinking about it but notes that it is very6 necessary for Cameroonians especially those living in stress.
