Dr.Ernest Molua : a CPDM Apostle, Intellectual and Researcher

People join the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) for various reasons-some even covert. Ambitious as youth are, some come on board in a bid to position themselves and get jobs. But once in and they can’t find the jobs or get their hidden motives satisfied, they quickly jump out and join the barking opposition in bashing the ruling party. Those who join the CPDM not out of conviction hardly argue cogently in defense of the party.

 Some of them even feel ashamed when dressed in the CPDM party attire and don’t hesitate to give you flimsy excuses for belonging to it.

Others -especially those above the middle age believe whole-heartedly in the CPDM and are vocal in the defense of its ideals.It is in this category that Dr. Ernest Molua falls.

This young Cameroonian university lecturer, married and in his late 30’s, tells anyone who cares to listen that, the ruling CPDM, by all accounts, is the way forward for Cameroon’s prosperity.

A native of Buea, Dr.Ernest Molua is not only an intellectual but also a diehard CPDM adherent.

He joined the CPDM many years ago-first as member of the party’s youth wing (YCPDM) and with the passing of time he has not seen any reason to abandon this ruling party .

Since 2003, Dr. Molua has been a lecturer in the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, of the University of Buea (UB), Cameroon’s most prestigious state-owned university.

His students say that, in class, you find in Dr. Molua not only a committed but also a talented teacher.

One student even described him as a teacher by design,adding that this don-unlike many others, is always abroad on invitation either giving out lectures to other universities or carrying out socio-economic research.

Dr. Molua had returned to Cameroon as a mark of his patriotism after bagging a PhD in Agricultural Economics- from a university in Germany.

If you love you country you should be ready to help its development,he says,justifying why he returned home instead of seeking for a job abroad.

Ask him why he feels the ruling CPDM is the way forward for Cameroon, and you may immediately invite a lecture from this don on how the over 200 opposition political parties in Cameroon have failed to prove their worth since their creations.

In a recently published essay titled, “The Pillars and Foundation of President Paul Biya’s Reelection”, Dr.Molua, gives strong justification s of the reelection of Paul Biya as president of Cameroon.

Biya, 78, won last October 9 presidential election contested by 23 candidates by 77.9%,to begin a another seven-year mandate, in country where corruption and unemployment remain major concerns.But Dr molua,argues strongly that despite the problems ,the Biya Administration is finding solutions to them.

Biya became President of Cameroon since November 1982, and was elected Pioneer Chairman of the ruling CPDM in March 1985.He is still party chairman.

Yesterday, November 6, marked Paul Biya’s 29th anniversary as president of Cameroon. Nation-wide CPDM militants and the President’s friends joined him to celebrate.

In Buea, CPDM partisans such as Mayor Charles Mbella Moki and Dr.Molua Ernest were very outspoken in their public remarks in support of CPDM and its chairman, Paul Biya who doubles as President of Cameroon.

 Dr.Molua is therefore seen here as an exemplar of the category of people who can be entrusted with several important assignments at a time, and they will be executed well.
