The Nigerian Consul-General for the Northwest and Southwest
regions, His Excellency Ibrahim Mohammed Bashir has described Footprints, a Cameroonian English
language magazine as qualitative, attractive and worth-promoting.
Footprints, whose most recent and the ninth edition, featured
the Nigerian Consul-General as its cover story, is a 38-page quarterly,
with head office in Buea and published by CRTV Journalist Princewill Mukwelle
Aduma The Consul-General’s
commendations of the magazine were voiced out last week when the Publisher of Footprints
and some of his editorial staff paid a courtesy visit on the former at the
Consulate-General of Nigeria in Buea.
Bashir, who was accompanied by his deputies, was particularly
happy that the editorial team behind such a beautiful journalistic product is
made of young people.
He pledged to henceforth support the magazine as he deemed necessary
so to ensure that Footprints grows
from strength to strength and contribute in promoting good relationship between
Cameroon and Nigeria. The Diplomat wishes to see Footprints as one of the
leading magazine world-wide in the near future.
But Bashir used the ceremony to warn journalists against circulating
fake news which he said is quite destructive to the smooth functioning of any
nation.
The back page of latest edition of Footprints is dedicated to Abiy Ahmed, Ethiopian Prime Minister,
who is the 2019 Noble Peace Prize Winner.
