Cameroon: Tiko-Douala Road Ghastly Accident leaves at least 25 dead.

By Christopher Ambe
Barely several weeks after a dump truck ran over an 18-seater passenger bus killing about 20 people on board along the Tiko -Douala Road, another speeding dump truck yesterday Saturday
Some of the dead pulled out of the damaged personnel bus
October 12, in the early morning, collided with a Cameroon Development Corporation (CDC) Delmonte Personnel carrier-bus that had on board about 100 workers heading to their job sites, killing this time at least 25 on the spot and leaving over 70 seriously injured, who are battling for their lives in hospitals.

Despite the Cameroon government’s increased road safety measures to check or minimize such road accidents, the frequency of ghastly accidents along the Tiko-Douala road is forcing many people to believe that the Spirit of Death has now taken residence along that road.

“Whenever I think of traveling from Buea via Tiko to Douala I am terribly scared. But If I must go, I pray continuously for God to protect me and other  commuters .Many people  strongly hold that  blood suckers/occultists have targeted this stretch of road, and spiritually confuse drivers”, one business man  told us, when he learned of yesterday’s deadly accident. “What is wrong with this country? Almost every day you hear of ghastly road accidents”

Local administrative authorities such as the Senior Divisional Officer for Fako,Zang III, as well as the General manger of Cameroon Development Corporation(CDC) Franklin Njie, rushed to the scene for an on-the-spot assessment and promised adequate  assistance to the injured..

The injured were rushed to hospitals in Tiko and Douala where they are under intensive medical care.
